The Old Weavers House, Canterbury, Kent, 1960. These timber-framed buildings on King's Bridge, which date from 1500, were adapted in the 17th century for the looms of the Walloon weavers. The river was needed for finishing cloth. Fulling mills were later adapted for paper-making.
