He is a native of San Francisco,and was born August 13, 1863. He be-came foreman of Engine No. 23, January20, 1898, after several promotions, enter-ing Engine No. 15 as hoseman, and after-wards to assistant foreman of Engine No.23, then to his present rank. The com-pany has the second-best record at theNorth Beach drill tower, i min.45 sec. The other members are : Lieutenant,Pat Barry; engineer, Chas. Hewitt;driver, J. J. McCa

PATkICK UAkkV moted to foreman Engine No. 3; by re-quest transferred to Engine No. 15; nowranks as lieutenant of Engine No. 23.During his long service met with one seri-ous accident, at Lick House tire in 1870.
