RME10K75–May 05, 1973 - Lord Lambton Resigns From The Government: Lord Lambton the Parliamentary Under -Secretary of State for Defence for the Royal Air Force, today resigned his position in the Government. In a letter to the Prime Minister Lord Lambton gave his reasons as health and personal. He succeeded to his father's title as Earl of Durham in 1970 and then relinguished that title. He fought the last General Election as Lord Lambton, but their have been strong moves in the Commons to force him to relinguish this title. Photo shows This picture of Lord Lambton was taken in 1968.

'The design, by the Messrs. [John and Benjamin] Green, is in the form of a Temple, of the Doric order, and the proportions are after the Temple of Theseus'. RM2FNWDMD–A late 19th Century view of Barnard Castle, a market town in Teesdale, County Durham, England. It is named after the castle around which it was built and sits on the River Tees. The castle was built in stone by Bernard de Balliol I during the latter half of the 12th century, giving rise to the town's name. The castle passed down through the Balliol family, then into the possession of Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick. King Richard III inherited it through his wife, Anne Neville, but it fell into ruins in the 15th century after his death.
