RMM4Y8N2–NPS Centennial Grand Canyon Naturalization Ceremony U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) teamed with Grand Canyon National Park and the National Park Service (NPS) to welcome 15 new United States citizens representing 12 countries. The ceremony took place August 25th, 2016, the National Park Service's 100th birthday, at 10 am at Mather Point Amphitheater. In honor of the NPS Centennial, USCIS has partnered with the NPS to hold more than 100 naturalization ceremonies on national park sites during 2016.

Between August 10 to September 10, 2016 the Greenway Trail between the IMAX Theater parking area in Tusayan and Center Road in Grand Canyon National Park will be closed while Grand Canyon's trail crew installs asphalt. The portion of the trail north of Center Road will not be affected. While the trail closure is in effect, cyclists and hikers may ride the Tusayan shuttle (Purple Route) which is equipped with bicycle carrier racks. The shuttle connects Tusayan with the South Rim Visitor Center, a 20 minute ride each way. The
