Taken from Otley Chevin, a view of Lower Wharfedale and Almscliffe Crag. Almscliffe Crag is a Millstone Grit outcrop in the Lower Wharfe Valley, near the village of Huby to the south of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. The crag was created because the softer surrounding stone (shale and mudstone) eroded more quickly than the hard wearing millstone. The distinctive shape of Almscliffe Crag, can be seen for miles around and from its summit, it provides amazing views across the Wharfe Valley. The crag is also one of the best climbing locations in the area.
