Astronaut Harrison H. Schmitt and the Lunar Roving Vehicle flank 'Tracy's Rock', aka Split Rock, or the Station 6 Boulder, during the third Apollo 17 extravehicular activity at the Taurus-Littrow landing site on December 13, 1972. The image was captured by astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, mission commander. While astronauts Cernan and Schmitt descended in the Lunar Module "Challenger" to explore the lunar surface, astronaut Ronald E. Evans, command module pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules in lunar orbit. This image is a composite of two NASA images.
