Plato (427?-347? B.C.) was a Greek philosopher, born in Athens. He studied under the Greek philosopher Socrates. He founded the Academy in Athens, where he taught until he died. His doctrines and those of his pupil Aristotle are still studied, followed, and used as the basis of other ways of thinking today. This illustration dates to 1908.
