The former chief inspector of schools Mike Tomlinson at a news conference in London where he presented his report into this summer's A-Level controversy and said that some students who did unexpectedly badly in their A-Levels are to be given higher grades.. He said that there had been no political interference in the exam process by Education Secretary Estelle Morris, and that Qualifications and Curriculum Authority chairman Sir William Stubbs acted within his powers as regulator.
