Willy Matheisl, Munich International Airport (IATA: MUC, ICAO: EDDM), officially named Franz Josef Strauss International Airport (German: Flughafen München Franz Josef Strauß) is located 17.5 miles (28km) northeast of Munich, Germany, and is a hub for Lufthansa and Star Alliance partner airlines. The airport lies in portions of four municipalities: Freising, Oberding (location of the terminals), Hallbergmoos and Marzling. The airport is named in memory of politician Franz Josef Strauß.
