Nikolai Bukharin, 1927. Nikolai Ivanovich Bukharin, born 1888, as economic theorist was one of the closest coworkers of Lenin, from 1919 member of the Politburo and till 1926 President of the Executive Committee of the Comintern. Bukharin supported Stalin's policy after Lenin's death, but was cut off 1929 as exponent of the right opposition and shot 1938.
