The ridge above Dingboche leading to Nangkartshang Peak (5073m) is a popular acclimatisation day-trek which in good weather offers stunning views of Ama Dablam and the Imja Khola. Dingboche is an important overnight stop for trekkers on the way to Everest Base Camp, Chukhung or Island Peak and has a number of lodges. The spring trakking/climbing season ends in late May as the monsoon brings moisture laden clouds.
