The former Azov Battalion was converted to the Azov Regiment and the highly taboo Wolfsangel displayed here was changed and forbidden. Such displays in Germany are currently isolated incidents and there is currently no evidence of neonazi influence at the demos. Many who demonstrate for the plight of the Azovstal defenders conflate them with the Azov Regiment who were only a portion of the forces that ultimately surrendered. The Ukrainian community and German supporters of Ukraine's defense demonstrated at Munich's Stachus against the Olympics allowing Russian athletes to compete despite their invasion of Ukraine.
