Six thousand three hundred and fifty-seven votes were cast in thiselection, representing a gain of 1, 300 over the preceding year. Garfielde waselected, securing a majority of 736 over Mix, the total vote for Blinn being only155. Upon the question of holding a constitutional convention there were 1, 109votes cast in opposition, and 974 in favor. By reason of the change in the law the county election also was held a yearearlier than usual, occurring June 6, 1870.
