Loch Morar, Scotalnd. At a maximum depth of 310 metres, Loch Morar is the deepest lake in the British Isles and the 17th deepest freshwater lake in the world. It lies on the west coast of Scotland and is highly elongated - despite a length of almost 19 kilometres it has a surface area of only 27 square kilometres.
