The mother gator was at most 10 feet from the workers as they dug out her eggs. Florida Fish and Wildlife officials, Alligator farmers, and volunteers, hunt for alligator eggs each summer in the thick marsh of Lake Okeechobee. In an effort to control the alligator population, officials report that egg hunters recovered 150, 000 eggs last year.
