The pipes are still free from rast. It is by far the most serviceable paint for the purpose."—C. H. Allen, Florist, Floral Park, N. V. Write for booklet No. 64-B. Joseph Dixon Crucible Company, ' Jersey City, N. J. Mention The Reyiew when you write. >> Do you think I could use steam to better advantage than hot water? M. W. B.—Kan. Since it requires only about 1, 000 square feet of hot water radiation to heat the present house to 50 degrees, the boiler now in use should be of ample size to heat another house of the same dimensions. We would prefer to con- nect the flow pipe to the new house directly with the boiler, and would use either one 4-inch flow or two 3-inch. The two 3-inch flows could be run to the west end of the house, upon the wall plates, or each of them could be used to supply two 214-inch flows, one of which could be under the purlins. We would consider twelve 2-incli re- turns ample for 50 degrees in zero weather, and would place three of them, either on the side walls or under the side benches, and the others under the middle benches. While the cost of heating the houses with steam would be rather more than with hot water, both in fuel and care, the cost of pijjing for steam would be less than with hot water, since it would require only one 2i4-inch overhead flow-pipe and nine or ten 114-inch returns.
