In the cut flower classes $100 and $50 are offered for display of carnations covering 100 square feet, and the same amounts for rose display. In the classes for fifty blooms of the various colors of roses and carnations, $25 and $15 are offered, while at the March show, when flowers are much more valuable, $8 and $4 are offered for carnations and $12 and $6 for roses! Irving Stewart, son of Geo. F. Stewart, of Medford, is now salesman for W. R. Morris, of Wellesley Hills, and George Mullen is salesman for the Montrose Greenhouses in place of E. A. Stickel, W. N. Eetailers re- port little trade outside of funeral work, but they look forward to the school openings and the home-comings of summer tourists. Great quantities of asters were received last week. White and purple had a good demand, but other colors had little call. There was a scarcity of gladioli and prime stock is again bringing $3 per hundred. Eoses are in good supply. Thrf cut from young stock is unusually heavy. The Killarney varieties are in the majority. Richmond, Hadley and Beauties are fine. Carnations are scarce; field-grown stock only is coming in.
