A new technique for determining the effectiveness of such insecticides has been worked out, and was re- cently termed by a famous English toxicologist one of the most fun- damental contributions to the subject yet made. Ten different bulle- tins dealing with various phases of the study have already been published. Now the attack is being carried forward into the held of insect eggs.. Complete studies of the apple maggot, running over many years, have es- tablished significant facts about this distinctive pest, including the discovery that it is able to hold over in the ground for two years 415>.
