British troops, blow up 100 Arab houses in Palestine town. Royal Engineers dynamited over 100 Arab houses in Jenin, Palestine, following the murder by Arabs and Assistant District Commissioner Moffett of Jenin. The houses were destroyed, partly as a punitive measure against the inhabitants of the town having harboured Arab rebels and partly for reasons of security, houses in Jenin was built so close to one another that police and military patrolling was impossible.
