Köpke wird der neue Keilfleckbuntbarsch nach dem 1977 verstorbenen venezolanischen Ichthyologen Agustín Fernandez Yepez benannt, der Köpke als väterlicher Freund und hervorragender Kenner der Fisch- fauna Venezuelas bei vielen Gelegenheiten hilfreich zur Seite stand.
