"Sniper Alley" was formerly known as Vojvode Putnika Radomira and is today called Zmaja od Bosne. Beyond the tram is Hiseta street, formerly called Branka Radicevica. On the right is the burnt-out ruin of the old tobacco factory. The Siege of Sarajevo was the longest of a capital city in the history of modern warfare, besieged by the Serbs from 5th April 1992 to 29th February 1996 (1, 425 days) during the Bosnian War. In total, 13, 952 people were killed.
