Construction started in 1959 and completed and put into use in 1963. It mainly handles the arrival, disassembly, marshalling, and departure tasks of freight trains on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, the Longhai Railway and the small operating trains inside the Zhengzhou Railway Hub.....The Zhengzhou North Station yard adopts two-way three-level eight-yard tandem station type with outsourcing layout of the main line; there are a total of four train inspection operation yards, which are the arrival and departure yards of the uplink system, the departure yard, and the arrival and departure yard of the downlink system. There is an exchange yard between the line marshalling yard; a locomotive depot is set between the downstream arrival yard and the upstream departure yard; a maintenance base is set in the middle of the station yard; a locomotive turnaround section is set in the north of the station yard; an auxiliary marshalling yard is set at the end of the downstream marshalling yard.....As of January 2017, Zhengzhou North Railway Station has a total of 898 sets of turnouts, 828 signals, and 228 strands. The total length of strands is about 454 kilometers, including 151 station lines with a total length of about 390 kilometers.
