West Bay, Dorset, UK. 2 November 2019. Waves batter West Bay And sea spray builds up the shore as weather warnings are issued for the South West. The high winds caused the Esplanade to be closed by emergencies services after high winds blew the roof off the ice cream kiosk. Sea defences have recently been improved at West Bay where a new rock groyne was constructed by the pier, additional shingle was imported to West Beach and a flood wall was built along the Esplanade as part of a 10 Million pound coastal defence project.
