Vietnam: A 1945 photograph of the French Governor's residence in Hanoi, now the Government Guesthouse. Located at the intersection of Hung Vuong Street and Chu Van An Road in Hanoi's central Ba Dinh district, Government Guesthouse is another example of the elegant French architecture that populates the city of Hanoi today. The building was formerly the Residence of the French Governor of Tonkin, which is the historical name for northern Vietnam. Today it is used as a guest house for VIP visitors of the Vietnamese government.
