Vehicles travel on the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, also called the Qingdao Gulf Bridge, in Qingdao city, east Chinas Shandong province, 27 June 2011. The construction of Jiaozhou Bay Bridge passed the inspection on Monday (27 June 2011). The bridge, with a total investment of more than 10 billion yuan (US$1.544 billion) and a length of 36.48 kilometers, will greatly shorten the time from downtown Qingdao to its outlying regions. The bridge will officially open to the public on June 30.
