U.S. Navy sailors in rigid hulled inflatable boats approach the guided-missile destroyer USS Preble (DDG 88) after a day of performing interaction patrols in the Northern Persian Gulf on May 15, 2007. The patrols are an element of maritime operations and are conducted in Iraqi territorial waters so that commercial shipping and fishing can occur safely in the region.
