Trsteno, Croatia - 31 May 2016; no people in view. Lantana is a genus of about many perennial flowering plants in the Verbena family. They are native to tropical regions of the Americas and Africa but were introduced in numerous other places, where they have often become invasive, spreading uncontrollably and weed-like. As seen here in a wild growth in Tristino, Croatia, Lantana's aromatic flower clusters (umbels) are a mix of red, orange, yellow, and sometimes other coloured florets.
