Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain. Hospital de Santa Cruz. Founded by Cardinal Mendoza (1428-1495) at the end of the 15th century. View of the central part of the façade of the building, constructed in the Plateresque style in the 1520s, by Alonso de Covarrubias (1488-1570). In the tympanum, the Adoration of the Cross by St. Helena, St. Peter and St. Paul. In the central niche, above the tympanum, the embrace of St. Joachim and St. Anne at the Golden Gate of Jerusalem. The building houses the Museum of Santa Cruz. Author: Alonso de Covarrubias (1488-1570). Spanish architect.
