Today we said farewell to Sgt. Maj. Gary McCann, who after 32 total years of service finally laced ‘em up for the last time. During a ceremony that included his wife and three children, McCann was lauded by Col. Stephen Schemenauer, brigade commander, and presented the following: commander’s award for public service, certificate of commendation from the Office of the Governor, Minnesota Medal for Merit and a special plaque from the brigade. “I know you for your candor, and how you care for Soldiers over all,” said Schemenauer.
