During the Second World War, the building burned down completely and was renovated subsequently. Today it houses the Historical Museum. Famous is the Red Hall, which was designed by architects Hans Vredemann de Vries, Izaak van de Blocke and Simon Herle. In the background is the Church of St. Mary.
