More information:

The windmill of St. Elzear de Montfuron is on a hill outside the village of the same name the Alpes de Haute Provence in the south of France. It dates from 1640 during the reign of Louis XIV and has been in the posession of the commune of Montfuron since 1969. The mill was built to produce flour. It is a working mill, one of two in the Department of Alpes-De-Haute-Provence. In July 2006 the sails of the mill were damaged by the Mistrale (a strong wind of the region) but have since been restored. The sails were not taken down prior to the arrival of the storm. It can be visited Saturday afternoons and by arrangement with the Mairie for 2 Euros a head.
