The Sixteen by Candlelight led by Harry Christophers known as the Mick Jagger of early music The Sixteen opened this years Norfolk and Norwich Festival with a requiem at Norwich Cathedral Harry Christophers is a British conductor, born on December 26, 1953 in Goudhurst, Kent. He became a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral, then studied music at King's School, Canterbury. He became an Academical Clerk at Magdalen College, Oxford. He founded The Sixteen in 1977. As well as conducting The Sixteen he has conducted the English Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, the St. Louis Symphony and the Deutsches Kammerphilharmonie.
