The 101st Troop Command, 130th Engineer Battalion celebrated a Change of Command Ceremony and an Awards Ceremony at Camp Santiago, Salinas, Puerto Rico, July 21. During the change of command ceremony, Lt. Col. Kevin P. Crawford relinquished his position as the 130th Battalion Commander to Major Edil Velázquez who became the acting Battalion Commander as a result of this part of the event. Both ceremonies took place at the theater facilities where all red 130th guidons stood tall during the event. The Awards Ceremony was dedicated to the Citizen-Soldiers from the Battalion who worked as part of the recovery efforts after Hurricanes Irma and María slashed the Island last year. These Soldiers went above and beyond their duty and demonstrated their selfless service by becoming part of the relief operations after the disaster. Many of these Engineers lost their homes and stayed in shelters, no one had utilities, but all knew that by helping all families they would be helping their own.
