Surfers in action on Bondi Beach, Sydney. 28/07/04: A university college pilloried by a teacher's leader for offering a 'mickey mouse' degree in surfing hit back saying the course would help Britain grab a slice of a multi-billion pound global industry. Professor Ken Reid, deputy principal of Swansea Institute of Higher Education, said there had been 12 applications for every place on the new BA in Surf and Beach Management being introduced this year.
