The Chinatown neighborhood is located on the east side of downtown Manhattan and although it has undergone changes in recent decades in relation to its size ( started on Mott Street , Park, Pell and Doyer ) currently measures approximately 1.5 kilometers north to south and about 3 miles from east to west , bordered on the south by Chambers Street , on the north by Delancey street , on the east by east Broadway street and on the west by Broadway. In terms of area bounded on the south by Ground Zero ( City Hall, Town Hall) in the north to the East Village and Soho , on the east by the Williamsburg Bridge and west to Tribeca. Chinatown is a neighborhood where most of its population are Chinese immigrants who use the Mandarin language to communicate . Walking around the neighborhood carrying the Asian country of China, with a full and veduras fruit stands , fish , restaurants (over 250 ) and a multitude of labels and signs written in Chinese oriental atmosphere. The flagship event in Chinatown is the celebration of "Chinese New Year " (Chinese New Year, a carnival parade ) in the second new moon after the winter solstice ( December 22 or 21 ) , ranging between January and February.
