A female tourist allows a Burmese python snake to be draped around her neck while she poses for a souvenir photograph in Singapore. The reptile is the tame pet of a local snake charmer who makes his living entertaining visitors to that island nation in Southeast Asia. Although this large snake has been trained not to be aggressive, the constrictor can wrap its long body around prey and squeeze it to death. Other snake charmers feature venomous snakes such as cobras and other vipers but the fangs or glands that produce their poisonous venom have been removed from those reptiles.
