RM2RCKRYA–Casemate, Camp des Romans. The fortress at the apex of the St. Mihiel salient was believed to be impenetrable. However, on September 12, 1918, it was bombarded and a shell struck this casemate, resulting in the death of four German soldiers including the commander's orderly. The casemate was evacuated the same night.
