Powered by four Rolls Royce Avon 117 turbo-jets, each of 7,350 lb. thrust, the plane has a cruising speed of around 500 mph. It is fitted with a strengthened freight-carrying floor and, like all other planes of the Transport Command, backward-facing seats. Comet IV is already in production for a number of international commercial airlines.
