The helicopter had winched to safety a teenage boy after he had fallen 60ft down the hold of the ship 'The Trent'. The helicopter had picked up a man, who had fallen from the fishing vessel 'Provider', 25 miles north east of the River Coquet. The man had been in the water for sometime before boat crew had been able to haul him back into the boat leaving him barely conscious. The boat had been battling against galeforce eight conditions with high seas. 05/01/1987

RM2J2JBY4–A RAF search and rescue Sea King helicopter from RAF Boulmer, which made a mercy dash to get emergency patients to hospital, had to stop twice because of blizzards. The four man crew battled through the Arctic conditions to get from Berwick Infirmary to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary and General Hospital for urgent treatment. Poor weather conditions on the A1 North of Alnwick made it impossible for ambulances to get through. RM2J0K65C–A RAF search and rescue Sea King from RAF Boulmer lands a man, who was plucked out of the sea off Cullercoats. Firemen carry an injured man to a waiting ambulance. The helicopter had been involved in the double rescue in high winds which had started with a fishing boat capsizing followed by a rescue boat doing the same. Two men were saved by the Sea King, another man managed to swim back to shore whist a fourth drowned trapped by seaweed and rope from the boat. 22/02/1981.
