These pictures of the bombing by Italian planes of the Swedish Red Cross unit at Dolo as the Abyssinian southern front , were brought to London by air . One Swedish doctor , Dr Gunnard Lundstorm , was killed , together with 50 Abyssinians . All the members of the Swedish staff were injured . RM2BW2AHA–General Gouraud hands over military Governorship of Paris to his successor. After 50 years of service in the French Army, Gen Henry Gouraud, Military Governor of Paris, has retired, having reached the age limit. General Gouraud took part in a farewell ceremony in the courtyard of the Invalides, his headquarters during the long period, he commanded the armed forces in and around Paris, when he handed over his post to his successor, General Billotte. RM2BW2D51–Riding to work in his car, Mayor Fiorello La Guardia of New York carried on a friendly chat with Lord Mayor of London, Sir Frank Bowater, who was speaking from his State coach outside the Mansion House. The two Chief Citizens discussed the weather, airports and the marvel of their carrying on such a conversation. Radio officials in New York said it was the first time a trans Atlantic conversation had been carried on by two persons in moving vehicles. RM2BW2903–Field Marshal Sir Philip Chetwode expected to succeed Sir Arthur Wauchope in Palestine. It is expected that field Marshal Sir Philip Chetwode, who is 68 years of age, will be appointed to succeed, General Sir Arthur Wauchope, who is resigning his post as High Commissioner in Palestine. Early next year on account of ill health. Sir Philip was commander-in-chief in India from 1930 to 1935 and during that period, his admin of ability was widely acknowledged.
