Mrs. Young is Centre Organiser for Caterham, and works for W.V.S. practically all the week during the term time, but devotes herself to her family during the holidays. Swaziland and Mauritius have each withdrawn their girl from next Thursday Miss World contest in protest at South Africa's involvement in the competition. There was a march from LTower Hill in London, to speakers Corner, Hyde Park, where a meeting was held, after which they went to lobby MP's at the House of Commons. There is a circus tradition that as two clowns have the same working face, and it's Mr. Stan Bult's responsibility to see that it is observed. The procedure for a novice clown is to send Mr. Bult a sketch of how he plans to look when he appears before an audience. At this point, Mr. Bult, who s secretary-organiser of the International Circus Clown Club, goes to work on an egg -reproducing the sketch on the shell. The he compares it with the hundreds of other similarly (but not identically) decorated eggshells in his home at Croydon
RME0RAJA–Nov. 11, 1958 - Girl who exposed communist plot against her boss - quits her new job: Miss Vera Spinks, 32 years of former Trade Union Worker resigned her job yesterday at an electronics factory. Miss Spinks left the Amalgamated Engineering Union Last June after refusing to charge Mr. Tom Chapman, North London Divisional organiser, with indecent assault.
