RM2A37YJ4–Advert for a Crittall rustless aluminium greenhouse, 1951. Crittall is most famous for its steel-framed windows. Francis Henry Crittall (1860–1935) – began to manufacture metal windows in 1884. Five years later (1889), the Crittall Manufacturing Company Ltd was incorporated. Its products have been used in thousands of buildings across the United Kingdom and beyond. The company is particularly associated with the Art Deco and Modernist movements in 20th-century architecture. Today it is based in Witham, Essex, close to its historic roots in Braintree.
