He noted the immunity to smallpox given by cow-pox. In 1796 he vaccinated James Phipps a number of times with pus from cow-pox pustules on a dairy maid. He then inoculated him with smallpox. The composition represents a rethinking and clarification of a smaller medal that Dupré produced in 1603 to celebrate Henri IV's heir. RMT8P6XF–Rittmeister Friedrich von Sigriz - a lifesaving medal with document and miniature The medal of the type instituted in 1889 with the likeness of Prince Regent Luitpold from a punch cutter models by Professor 'A. Scharff' in Vienna. The medal, which was also struck in this form and bestowed after the monarchy from 1920 to 1931, is in an outstanding state of preservation and except for an edge knock and a few scratches is in mint-fresh condition. RM2E8WCAJ–Czeslaw Slania (22 October 1921 Czeladz; 17 March 2005 Kraków) was a Polish-born postage stamp and banknote engraver, living in Sweden from 1956. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Slania was the most skilled and prolific of all stamp engravers, with over 1000 stamps to his credit. His 1000th engraved stamp, based on the 17th-century painting 'Great Deeds by Swedish Kings' by David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl (2000), is in the Guinness Book as the largest engraved stamp ever issued.
