He took his last breath at 5:59 p.m. on September 30, 1955, at the age of 24. Dean had starred in 'Rebel Without a Cause,' 'East of Eden 'and 'Giant' and was the first to receive a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He is buried in his boyhood hometown of Fairmount, Indiana.
