RMF1M08F–Conrad, aka Conradin (1252-1268) was the last direct heir of the House of Hohenstaufen. He was Duke of Swabia, one of the five stem duchies of the medieval German kingdom. He was the nominal King of Jerusalem (1254–1268) and Sicily (1254–1258). After his attempt to reconquer Sicily failed, he was caught, tried as a traitor and on 29 October 1268 was beheaded.

When his mother died the same year, he was given to Pope Innocent III, who became his guardian. When Frederick came of age in 1208, he asserted his power over Sicily. Emperor Otto IV invaded Italy in 1209, hoping to conquer Sicily and bring Frederick to heel, but in 1211, Frederick was elected in absentia as King of Germany by various imperial princes fed up with Otto's rule.
