RMF219Y2–Edward VI presenting the warrant for the arrest of Joan Bocher, an English Anabaptist, to Cardinal Cranmer. Her first conflict with church and state came after she spoke against the sacrament of the altar. She was arrested as a heretic in 1548 and convicted in April 1549. During her imprisonment various well-known religious figures were enlisted to try to persuade her to recant to no avail. She was burned at the stake for heresy in Smithfield, London, 2nd May 1550.

There were many groups of Waldensians in Calabria.

The Inquisition was a tribunal started in 1478 by Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella I of Castile, during which many people were tortured and burnt in front of crowds in the streets. In practice, the Spanish Inquisition served to consolidate power in the monarchy of the newly unified Spanish kingdom, but it achieved that end through infamously brutal methods.

RMP9H19X–The trial of John Lambert (died 1538) an English Protestant martyr before King Henry VIII in Westminster Hall. He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge, went to Antwerp and became a member of the group of humanist theologians that met at the White Horse Tavern. In 1536 after returning to England he was accused of heresy by the Duke of Norfolk, but escaped until 1538, when he was put on trial, and burned at the stake, on 22 November 1538 at Smithfield, London.
