Depicting a dead soldier on a battlefield with an ethereal image of Christ on the cross shining down on him, it was one of the most popular images of the war. Stephen Paget observed in The Cornhill Magazine that this Graphic cover has turned railway bookstalls into wayside shrines; the one and only picture of the war, up to now, which says what most needs to be said on canvas. RMJXMYWP–VINTAGE WW1 French propaganda poster ON LES AURA ! 1916, “Courage we shall get them”, Original French World War 1 poster designed by Jules Abel Faivre (1867-1945) for subscription to the 2nd national defense war fund. This image became one of the most famous propaganda poster images of the great war and was so popular that it was retitled and reused for the second world by the US Army. Abel Faivre earned more individual fame by his designs than any other French poster artist during the war and this image above all became the visual patriotic mascot for the French.

The Great World Entertainment Centre, facing onto the wide intersection of Yanan Lu and Xizang Lu, was the largest and most infamous entertainment complex of old Shanghai, with music, films, opera, magic, bars, brothels and fortune-tellers. The Battle of Shanghai (1937), known in Chinese as Battle of Songhu, was the first of the twenty-two major engagements fought between the the Republic of China and the Empire of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

RF2DCE69R–WW II - This is 'Light Tank, M2' being tested, about 1940. On the side of the turret is a pair of white, crossed swords, which designates that this tank belongs to the US Cavalry. These light tanks were produced in the United States before, and during the early years of, WW II. Due to their lighter weight and firepower, they were used in limited ways around the world during the war. RM2RGB85T–Painting by Otto Engelhardt-Kyffhauser from his 'Great Trek' series - Farmer Rudolf Eger. Engelhardt-Kyffhauser was a member of the NSDAP and SS and drew numerous images of war and portrayed several national socialist greats. In January 1940, Engelhardt-Kyffhauser accompanied a trek of ethnic Germans at Himmler's request . These folk were from Galicia and Volhynia (which belonged to the Soviet-annexed Eastern Poland), and were relocated to Warthegau. 120,000 Poles had previously been deported in order to create settlement space for them. Banda Aceh’s Grand Mosque was built around the 12th century, but was burnt down during the Aceh War (1873-1904). It was rebuilt by the Dutch as a gesture of reconciliation in 1880 before hostilities broke out once more. The Dutch East India Company, or VOC, was a chartered company granted a monopoly by the Dutch government to carry out colonial activities in Asia. It was the first multinational corporation in the world and the first company to issue stock. It was also arguably the world's first megacorporation.
