RMJM960C–Patrick (Paddy) Cochrane (b. 1913, Dublin - d. 2012, Dublin), Irish International Brigadier that fought for the Republican Government in Belchite, poses close to the Church of Saint Martin in Belchite. Willing to fight against the Fascists in Spain, Paddy enlisted in the communist party to drive some ambulances to Spain. During a few months he drove the ambulance, but soon he changed it for a lorry because he thought it would be more useful. After some time moving between one front and the other, he is sent to Belchite.

This camp was built initially as a garrison for Franco's military in 1938, after the war, this compound served to host workers and family members during the construction of the new city of Belchite, the forced labor formed by Republican prisoners lived in terrible conditions in nearby shacks that have disappeared long time ago.
RMJM960J–Tombstone of Juliana Lopez Lizabe with an inscription that sais: 'Killed by the reds in Alcañiz on January 24th. 1938'. Originary from Medina de Aragón, she had apparently a very radical right ideology, she was arrested by the republicans and imprisoned in Alcañiz were she would be judjed and sentenced to death to be executed later on. Manuel Fron López, probably a later son of Juliana, also was executed in a location called Glesa and is burried in the same burrial sight sight, according to the register Manuel was 18 at the time of his death.
RMJM960B–Leonardo Lobato Morales (b. 1922, La Línea de la Concepción- d. 2011, La Línea de la Concepción), is portrayed at his home. After lying about his age, at 15 he enters in the Legionnaire corps. He fought in the Ebro Battle on Franco's side. Originally from a family with low economic possibilities, his mother tries to enroll him in the Civil Guard when aged 14. Since he could not form part of the Civil Guard without the military service, he was sent as a voluntary to the military for the service. As a young boy he serves as cornet with the music band of the nº 7 Pavia Regiment.
RMJM960A–Francisco Alonso Uriarte (b.1916, Barakaldo - d. 2009, Barakaldo), Anarchist Militant from the CNT-FAI during the Spanish Civil War, fought in several battles in the Basque Country, portrayed in his living room by a picture of him with a group of war prisoners after the war. The first experience of Francisco in the front was in Irun, were his unit, poorly equipped fled following the clashes against a well equipped upraised army. Few days later, his unit was mobilized in the failed operation to recover Vitoria. According to Francisco, a full battalion whent missing in the operations, some time
RMJM9609–Evaristo Arranzuria Galindez (b.1916 - d.2009, Orozko), enlisted as voluntary in the Basque National Army fighting for the II Spanish Republic. During an air raid in Saibigiaín mountain a bomb injured his arm and had to be amputated. After the war hi worked in a factory called Famesa and as he stated, he never received any compensation economic compensation from the Spanish Government due to the loss of his arm. Sadly the state of mind from Evaristo during the interview didn't lead to a full biography.
RMJM9606–Angel Madariaga Torres (b. 1915, Bilbao - d. 2013, Bilbao), fought for the Basque Nationalist Army for the Spanish Republican Government close to the Iron Belt, Poses in his living room for an interview portrait. At the start of the war, Angel was studying. Militant of the PNV (Basque Nationalist Party), he enrolled in the nationalist militia with some friends. After some training as a communications officer, he was destination in Amorebieta. This basque village would proove as a key point for the uprised military to attack the Iron Belt and conquere Bilbao.

RMJM95YN–Piedad Barbadillo Anton (Lerma, b. 1922), sits by the remains of her uncle, Ampelio Anton in the mass grave that contains 22 bodies more in La Andaya mountain, close to the village of Lerma, Burgos. Four mass graves were found with 87 bodies including the remains of seven mayors several councillors and even a provincial member of the Parliament. Piedad remembers how Falangists came to the door of his uncle at 3:00 AM on August 26th 1936.
RMJM95YB–Concha Perez Collado (b. 1915, Barcelona- d.2014, Barcelona), anarchist militant of the CNT-FAI (National Confederation of Workers- International Anarchist Federation), fought for the Republic in Belchite. On July 18th Concha and several fellow anarchists assaulted the Bruc garrison capturing many weapons. Once armed, she decides to enlist with some friends and are sent to a village called La Zaida, waiting for an offensive from the upraised.

At the time of the outbrake of the war, Alberto worked with his father as a carpenter. He remembers how three Republican planes bombed frequently Belchite with low powered bombs.

RMJM95WH–Ricard Cucala Prunyunosa (b.1917, Alcala de Xibert; d.2015, Barcelona), Member of Estat Catala, Catalan national Party, fought in the Ebro Battle with the Republican army. Towards the end of the war, he fled to France and later on to the USSR were he would fight against the Germans in the World War II. With the military uprise Ricard and his brother enlisted as militia from the Estat Catala political party (Catalan Nationalist party). His first orders were to form part of a militia to help and control other militia, mainly the anarchists.
