Massacre of supporters of the 'Party of Order' (conservatives) in the Place Vendôme in Paris, 22 March 1871. The so-called 'Friends of Order', also 'Friends of Peace', held a demonstration in front of the headquarters of the National Guard, demanding the expulsion of the headquarters of the 'federates' from the Place Vendôme. Corpses of the French generals Claude Lecomte (1817-1871) and Jacques Leon Clément-Thomas (1809-1871). They were pelted with rocks and lynched on 18 March 1871 at the local headquarters of the National Guard, at the ballroom of the Château Rouge, and then taken to 6 Rue des Rosiers in Montmartre by a group called The Committee of Vigilance of the 18th arrondissement, who demanded that they be tried and executed.
