Born as Verbeek, Verbeck was one of the most important oyatoi gaikokujin (御雇い外国人, foreign advisors) during the early years of Emperor Meiji's reign. He contributed to many major government decisions, and was extremely influential in arranging the Iwakura Mission (岩倉使節団, Iwakura Shisetsudan), the first Japanese diplomatic mission to the United States and Europe, of 1871 (Meiji 4) through 1873. He was admitted to Queens' College in Cambridge and did well academically. Fuller was a prolific author, one of the first English writers to live by his pen. He is particularly remembered for his Worthies of England, published in 1662 after his death.

At the age of five he was sent to the École de Gymnase at Lyon and, after six months training as an acrobat, made his first public appearance as 'The Boy Wonder'. His superior skill and grace, as well as the originality of the settings of his acts, made him a popular favorite.
RM2B03ARB–Thomas Fuller (1608-1661) was an English churchman, historian and writer. Born in Aldwinker St Peter's, Northamptonshire, his father was rector of the community. He was admitted to Queens' College in Cambridge and did well academically. Fuller was a prolific author, one of the first English writers to live by his pen. He is particularly remembered for his Worthies of England, published in 1662 after his death.

Karl became the heir to the throne after the death of his uncle Franz Ferdinand in 1914, and emperor following the death of Franz Joseph I in the middle of the First World War. In 1918 he was forced to renounce participation in the affairs of state of Austria and Hungary, but refused to abdicate. Karl emigrated with his family to Switzerland.
